Yes, I know that this is nVidia's first Intel chipset that supports SLI technology. But it is relatively crappy by my standards. First, heat. This is one of he hottest chipsets around. After using my rig, try touching the NB or SB, you WILL burn your fingers. OC-ing with this chipset is not easy as it is hot. I had to put an aftermarket cooler to keep it happy. However, it still couldn't push my PD 820 much. damn.
Secondly, the compatibility issue. I have been using my 8600GT for a few months now, but lately it keeps hanging while playing games. I have formatted my HDD, deleted the partitions, changed RAMs and much more. A friend of mine suggested that maybe the chipset is not too happy with my 8600GT. Much to my surprise, my 7300GS worked like a charm n this board. Looks like I have to spend more $$$$ getting a new mobo.
Third. CPU compatibility. This stupid board DOES NOT support Intel's Conroe CPUs. So there goes 90% of possible CPU upgrades. The most it can support is the Pentium Extreme Edition which, well, is crappy and sucks.
Why I bought this board? Because i was despo. I wanted my rig fast. I did not bother about upgrades. I hated myself over that. Now I have to go shopping for a new mobo which is going to set me back for another RM400. DFI, ASUS or MSI? I wonder.........
